PRESIDENT- Pastor Jack L. Bomar, D. Min.

pastor-jack-l-bomarPastor Jack as he is affectionately called is a native of Tennessee, and founder of Blessing Hands USA, Inc., a non-profit organization established to revive, restructure and revitalize communities.  He is presently providing pastoral leadership and support at the United Church of Jesus Christ in Beaufort, South Carolina.  He recently served as Pastor at the United Palace Cathedral in New York, New York where he revived and re-energized this ministry into a thriving community oriented ministry.

Pastor Jack has served as Senior Minster for communities around the country to include: Unity Christian Church in Memphis, Tennessee; Unity By The Sea in Santa Monica, California; South Side Unity Center of Christianity in Chicago, Illinois; and as Senior Associate Minister at Hillside International Chapel & Truth Center located in Atlanta, Georgia.  For the past couple of years, he has traveled abroad to Melbourne, Australia where he provided ministerial leadership and support to the Unity Church of Melbourne.

He has led several delegations comprised of multi-denominational faith leaders, community leaders, chiropractors, and volunteers on trips to Hermanas Mirabal Provinces, Dominican Republic and Haiti to provide aid, resources, and prayers of healing to hundreds of men, women and children in these communities.

Pastor Jack completed his studies in the Master of Divinity Program at Chicago Theological Seminary.    He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Lane College, located in Jackson, Tennessee, a ministerial ordination from the Barbara King School of Ministry, located in Atlanta, Georgia, and the ecclesiastical ministerial endorsement from the United Church of Religious Science, located in Burbank, California.   He recently completed his studies in the Doctor of Ministry Program with a concentration on Parish Revitalization & Building the Beloved Community at McCormick Theological Seminary, located in Chicago, Illinois.   His organizational affiliations include the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Prevention & Motivation, Inc., Operation Brotherhood and Stop The Violence Against Women & Children, Inc.   He has been the guest speaker at many churches and centers in Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Hawaii, India and Australia.  In addition, he was inducted into the Morehouse College, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers in 2008.

Pastor Jack, known as New Thought’s Walking and Talking Preacher, has appeared on numerous television and radio programs around the country and beyond to include such cities as Memphis, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Hawaii and Melbourne, Australia.  He served as producer, director and host of Power Hour, a live interactive radio program that promoted a combination of traditional Gospel and Contemporary music with a mixture of the spoken word using Spiritual Principles.

He is a founding member of the We Love Memphis Movement, a consortium of ministries, churches and organizations throughout the Greater Memphis community whose mission is to create a wholesome new climate of caring, safety, respect, love and good will in the city of Memphis.  In addition, he was a member of the USA delegation committee for the Parliament of World’s Religions 2009 Conference in Melbourne, Australia.

Pastor Jack’s desire is to serve as a conduit that fosters a greater sense of self-awareness, spiritual enlightenment and God-consciousness with the communities in which he serves.   His hope is to encourage people of diverse backgrounds to transcend differences, bridge communication, and build a coalition that leads to the achievement of a common purpose, a unified and loving community.   He states, “In moving toward greater achievements, I seek to be more accessible to the succeeding generations of youth in a reciprocal type of role modeling that promotes healthy and effective participation in the global community experience.

DIRECTOR-Brent Tharpe

Investigator Tharpe began his career with the Dyersburg Police Department in 1994. In 1998, he was promoted to the Family Service Division, formerly known as the Youth Guidance Division. Investigator Tharpe responsibilities included investigating cases involving child pornography, prostitution, child physical and sexual abuse, cases resulting in the exploitation of children, child death, child abduction/kidnapping, all sex offenses committed against an adult and all juvenile cases.  In the process of working these cases, he has worked with several local, state and federal agencies and social services.

Mr. Tharpe has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from the University of Tennessee at Martin, TN. He has attended hundreds of hours of training in the area of child sexual exploitation, child physical abuse and sexual assault.

Mr. Tharpe taught Criminal Justice for Dyersburg State Community College as an adjunct Professor. He has taught different organizations including: local schools, boy scouts, girl scouts and other civic organizations.

He has trained numerous professionals in the area of violence against women and children. The majority of the training developed by Mr. Tharpe is based on a Multi-Disciplinary Concept. Mr. Tharpe has trained police chiefs, investigators, patrol officers, doctors, emergency room nurses, SANE nurses, Department of Children Services, and other professionals that are committed to stopping the violence.

DIRECTOR- Reverend Herbert J. Kemp

Rev. Herbert James Kemp is from Frogmore (St. Helena), South Carolina.  He is a graduate of Beaufort Technical College where he received his Associate Degree as an Electrical Engineer.  Throughout the years, he has achieved many accomplishments in the communications industry.

Rev. Kemp has been an active member in the Beaufort, South Carolina community for many years.  He is part of the ministerial team at United Church of Jesus Christ.  He created and ran the first basketball camp known as “Girls Night Out” Beaufort, in which girls were taught basketball fundamental and life skills.  He mentored and coached youth for 25 years winning numerous state and local championships in basketball, fast pitch softball and baseball.  He was an active member of the Community Relation Team (CRT) where he served and worked with the United Way, Salvation Army, CAPA, Relay For Life and Paris Island 4th of July Celebration.

Rev. Kemp was the Youth Coach for Beaufort County Recreation. He served on St. Helena Elementary School Improvement Council, he was the President of the Beaufort Jasper Joint Utility Committee 2012, and he is a Member of the Beaufort County Ministerial Alliance.

Rev. Kemp is currently working with Blessing Hands USA, Inc. He quotes, “God has grant me favor and I realize that all Good things, (God Things) work for them that love God (I AM), honor and obey his words.”

DIRECTOR – Minister Danielle James

Danielle James is a native of New York City.  She is a graduate from Marymount Manhattan College, New York City, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and a minor in Human Resources Administration.  She is a minister at United Palace Cathedral located in New York City and has served in this capacity for more than 5 years.

Minister Danielle has worked with Blessing Hands USA, Inc. and its founder – Pastor Jack L. Bomar – since its inception. She has assisted in organizing its annual Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner and Canned Food Drive feeding more than 200 families annually.

She has assisted with the Neighborhood Fellowships designed to engage and partner with the community, businesses, and city by providing empowering events and activities, and to ensure a loving and open dialogue between the church and global community.  Such events included the Let’s Move Community Health Festival where we partnered with First Lady Michelle Obama’s national initiative to combat childhood obesity.  We focused on the health needs of local community residents.  We provided eye, sugar, and blood pressure screenings; health education awareness; fitness; and healthy eating with participation from healthcare providers, physicians, pharmacies, nutrition consultants, and sports gyms.  Minister Danielle has also participated in Community Walks hosted by Blessing Hands USA, Inc. The intention of these “walks” was to meet and greet community residents, offer prayers of healing, and provide hope.

Minister Danielle played a key role in organizing the delegation, led by Pastor Jack, who went to Hermanas Mirabal Provinces, Dominican Republic to assist this community by providing aid, resources, services, and prayers of healing.

Minister Danielle’s continued desire is to inspire all people – regardless of race, creed, color, religion, or ethnicity – and provide them with opportunities to be their best in all they do.

DIRECTOR- Hector Perez

Hector Perez has worked as an assistant to Pastor Jack L. Bomar for over 3 years at the United Palace Cathedral located in New York City.  In this role, he supported Pastor Jack in revitalizing the United Palace Cathedral into a community oriented ministry.

Mr. Perez is currently working with Blessing Hands USA, Inc.  He has seen and experienced, first handedly, the Hand of God move throughout the communities Blessing Hands USA, Inc. supported.  Mr. Perez accompanied Pastor Jack on a recent trip to Quanaminthe, Haiti and various regions in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

During the trip to Haiti, they provided funding and resources to an orphanage in need such as: rent for an additional home to accommodate more children, solar panels to provide lighting at night, beds so the children no longer sleep on the ground, food, and a host of supplies and necessities.

During the trip to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, they visited villages and churches where they met with local pastors and community leaders to discuss the needs of the community. Those needs include: sewage and waste removal, clean water, and immunization to stop the spread of disease.

Mr. Perez is of Dominican descent. He currently resides in New York City and frequently visits the Dominican Republic. He is attending Bronx Community College in New York City, obtaining a degree in Business Administration.  He has faith that God will use Blessing Hands USA, Inc. to build a bridge of hope for these communities in need.
